R9600 Paperless Recorder: Multi-Channel Industrial Data Recorder with Up to 18 Universal Inputs
Introduction
The R9600 paperless recorder is a compact industrial data acquisition instrument designed for multi-parameter monitoring. It receives signals from field sensors and transmitters, converts them into digital data, and displays them through a clear graphical interface. At the same time, the recorder stores historical data internally, allowing operators to review process trends and operational history when needed.
This paperless recorder supports various signal types through universal inputs, including current, voltage, thermocouples, and RTD temperature sensors. The flexible input configuration allows different signal types to be used simultaneously within the same device, reducing the need for additional converters or monitoring equipment.
The unit includes several built-in functions, such as alarm outputs, data export via a USB interface, and RS-485 communication using the Modbus RTU protocol. These capabilities allow the recorder to function as both a local monitoring device and part of a larger industrial control system.
With a 3.5-inch TFT color display, operators can view real-time measurements, historical data, and alarm information directly from the front panel. The system stores recorded data in internal flash memory and protects it even during power interruptions.
Working principle
The R9600 paperless recorder operates by continuously collecting signals from connected sensors and instruments throughout an industrial process.
First, the device receives analog input signals from field transmitters such as temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, or level instruments. These signals can include current signals (such as 4–20 mA), voltage signals, thermocouple signals, or resistance signals from RTD sensors.
Once the signals are received, the recorder processes them through its internal signal conditioning circuits and analog-to-digital conversion system. This process transforms the electrical signals into digital values that correspond to actual process parameters.
The recorder then performs three main functions simultaneously:
-
Real-time monitoring: Process values are displayed on the screen using numerical values, trend curves, or graphical displays.
-
Data recording: Measurements are continuously stored in the internal flash memory for later review.
-
Alarm and communication: When measured values exceed preset limits, relay outputs can trigger alarms or control responses, while communication interfaces allow the data to be transmitted to supervisory systems.
This digital recording approach improves reliability compared with traditional paper chart systems while enabling easier access to historical process data.
