PSS100 Suspended Solids/ TSS/ MLSS Meter for Industrial/Environmental/Wastewater Treatment
Introduction
The PSS100 is an online optical suspended solids analyzer based on infrared scattered light measurement in accordance with ISO 7027 principles. It converts particle-induced light scattering into electrical signals proportional to suspended solids concentration.
This model is positioned as a foundational SS measurement solution within automated water and wastewater systems. It delivers stable data output for monitoring and basic process control while maintaining a simplified system architecture that reduces operational and maintenance burden.
The PSS100 integrates smoothly with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems through standard analog and digital interfaces, supporting consistent solids tracking across treatment stages.
Working principle
The PSS100 total suspended solid meter measures suspended solids using a near-infrared optical scattering method, which minimizes interference from water color and ambient light. Here is how a total suspended solid meter works:
Step 1: Infrared Emission
An infrared light source is projected into the process liquid.
Step 2: Particle Scattering
Suspended particles scatter the emitted light at specific angles depending on their concentration.
Step 3: Signal Detection and Conversion
The scattered light is detected by optical sensors and converted into an electrical signal proportional to TSS or MLSS concentration.
Step 4: Real-Time Output
The processed signal is transmitted via analog or digital outputs for continuous monitoring. This method provides repeatable and stable readings, particularly suitable for long-term online measurement in treatment processes.
